Travel Alone Day 2

Change in plans

I stayed the night on my friends house only and woke up early in the morning, took bath and her father gave me a ride till a rickshaw stand from there I went to railway station. I had a plan in my mind of going Delhi from there and then to go to Jammu and finally Kashmir, so I boarded a train for Delhi, when there were only few miles left, I got a call from a friend residing in Kashmir only. She told me that theirs a strike going on in Kashmir. There was no meaning in going Kashmir now, so I made myself stable and thought let us first go to Delhi station and will thought about where to go next. I thought of Shimla, at the same time some stranger sat near me. I asked for his guidance, he also suggested me of Shimla only, to take a chance I visited Railway tourism office too to inquire about recent tours, all were religious tours at that time.

Now I was heading towards Shimla, I boarded a train for Ambala, because I knew that train for Shimla will be available from that station, but I did not got space to get in from general boggie so I went to sleeper coach, I had to give some money to TC to get me a berth, I slept there for sometime. As soon as I woke up I started to get details about where to travel around and in Shimla, people there told me about complete area.

Now I explained them that I am travelling alone and want to explore myself and want to enjoy a lot. There was a punjabi aunty and a uncle they told me there's nothing in Shimla now, but you can got to Haridwar, Rishikesh, Dehradoon, Mussorie and finally Hemkund Saheb. They said I could find hemkund saheb area completely covered with snow. I was excited listening about snow, so I made my plan to move towards these areas. Since I was starving at that time I asked them to told me about some restaurants near railway station Ambala (they were locals so they must have known), but the kind Punjabi Aunt said that I have some Parathas, and she offered me, another Aunt sitting besides me saw that Parathas were all dry so she gave me some pickels another uncle made some lassi for me till the time, now I was full and had new plans in my mind. Therefore I took a train for saharanpur (station before Haridwar). Punjabi Aunt gave me complete details to stay in Haridwar.

In the train from Saharanpur to Haridwar I made a friend actually two friend one was a student and other an employee, other one had a detail knowledge of trains so I took his no. also he told me the address which was given by Aunt. He was too eager to help me that he stepped out of train on a station just before actual Haridwar, and followed me till he could explain me the complete path and till the train started. I was so scared with his so much help that I thought if he followed me after the train starts I will re board the train, because the station was a small one and completely dark. And to add that he knew that I was travelling alone, but he stepped in the train as soon as it started Mere to jaan me jaan aai after that.

I searched Haridwar for those places that Aunt had suggested me but I had to sleep empty stomach that night since I did not found any good langar nor a Gurudwara to stay at night. I had to take a room on rent for Rs300/-

Well it was also fun...
